The Cambodian passport currently ranks on the 86th place according to the Guide visa index. It provides visa-free access to 54 countries. The passport ranking has remained steady over the past years. The government works on improving international relations to have access to more countries visa free. Cambodian passport holders have visa-free access and visas on arrival to countries such as Indonesia, Philippines, Egypt, Sri Lanka and Thailand. Cambodian citizens do however require a visa to enter 172 destinations in the world such as China, Turkey, Russia, the United States and the entire European Union. This high visa requirement results in a low mobility score.
The Kingdom Cambodia is a former French colony. Located in Southeastern Asia, it consists of 25 provinces. It borders Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. The most important provinces are Phnom Penh, Kandal and Prey Veng. Cambodia is the 26th largest country in Asia with a surface area of 181,035 square kilometers. It has an approximate yearly passenger traffic of 6 million people. Followed by Siem Reap International Airport (REP). Together they connect the country to destinations across Asia and to the U.A.E.

Cambodia has an open economy, generating a GDP of approximately $76.6 billion. This makes it the 8th largest economy in South East Asia. It has a per capita income of $4,645. The main GDP contributing sectors are services and industry. The country’s main export is clothing manufacturing.
Cambodia is a well-developed tourism destination offering several attractions. It is known for its UNESCO world heritage sites and natural beauty. Some of the major destinations are Angkor Wat, the capital Phnom Penh, the Sihanoukville beaches, Battambang and Kampot. The majority of the 6 million yearly tourism visitors is originating from the neighboring Asian countries, the United States and Europe. Visitor numbers have grown in the two digits percentage range over the past years.
