Saint Lucia and Morocco Sign Visa Waiver Agreement
The Ministry of External Affairs of St Lucia released a statement confirming that a visa waiver agreement had been signed between Saint Lucia and the Kingdom of Morocco. This new agreement will enable diplomatic passport holders to travel “hassle-free” between the countries.
The visa waiver agreement was signed on November 8, 2024, in Rabat, Morocco by Honorable Alva Baptiste, Minister of External Affairs of St Lucia, and His Excellency Mr. Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Morocco. The parties also signed a Roadmap of Cooperation Agreement that outlines strategic collaboration between the countries from 2025 to 2027, covering numerous key sectors including education, agriculture, and economic development and investment.
The Ministry of External Affairs of St Lucia stated that the signing of these agreements “marks a new chapter of collaboration between the two nations” and that they will “streamline immigration processes and enable diplomats to engage in more seamless dialogue and collaboration on key global issues.”
A launch date for the visa waiver agreement is yet to be announced, with both countries requiring time to implement the legislative and administrative changes needed for visa-free travel.
