
Armenia to Waive Visa Requirement for Citizens of Bahrain, Oman, and Saudi Arabia from July 1
The Armenian government decided to waive the visa requirement for nationals of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Sultanate of Oman at a meeting on May 22, 2025.
The decision was made to boost tourism and investments into the country, and the removal of the visa requirement will take effect on July 1, 2025.
Armenia will also remove the visa requirement for individuals who have residency status in the United States of America, European Union member states, Schengen Area countries, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Oman.
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said, “Armenia has already established a similar regime in a number of neighboring countries with a certain level of economic development, such as with the UAE, with which the visa regime was eliminated last year.”
Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan stressed the importance of the visa policy change, saying that the country is expecting a significant increase of tourists. This is turn is anticipated to lead to a rise in direct flights, improving connectivity between Armenia and the rest of the world.
Speaking about the economic benefits of the visa waiver, Minister Papoyan noted, “Our tourism strategy is almost ready. We have targeted the above-mentioned countries as the main markets. In particular, we expect the Middle East to become one of the main and leading markets. In recent years, tourist flows have increased, and the entry of potential investors has been facilitated.”
