Starting from 10 April 2025, Canadians will Require a Visa to Enter Brazil
The Canadian government has updated its travel advisory page for Brazil to reflect the need for Canadians to get a visa for travel to Brazil. The visa changes take effect on 10 April 2025, and it is advised that any Canadians with travel plans to Brazil ensure they have applied for a visa for the duration of their trip.
This visa change forms part of a range of changes made by the Brazilian government including now requiring tourist visas from anyone traveling from the US, Australia, and Canada. Canadian officials have highlighted the need for Canadians to apply online for a tourist visa.
Canadians will be required to pay a visa application fee, provide details about their intended trip, and give their passport information. When entering Brazil by air, sea or land, Canadians will be asked to attend the immigration counter and have their visa ready to enter the country.
For concerned Canadian citizens or anyone needing consular help, the Canadian government has an embassy in Brasilia located at SES Avenida das Nacoes quadra 803 lote 16. The Canadian foreign office has kept the same travel guidance in place for Canadian tourists traveling to Brazil and urges a high degree of caution due to high levels of gang-related, petty, and violent crime.
