Uzbekistan to Issue Five-year Residence Permits to Foreign Investors
From June 1, Uzbekistan will introduce a program for foreign nationals to obtain a five-year residence permit. According to the country’s Presidential Decree PF-67 dated April 18, 2025, foreign nationals and stateless persons will be eligible for the permit with a minimum investment of $250,000. For each accompanying family member, including spouses, children, or parents, an additional $150,000 will be required.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev also signed a decree on April 18 to boost entrepreneurship and exports and enhance trade and industrial policy.
Since 2019, Uzbekistan has offered two pathways for investment-based migration, either through direct investment or real estate. During its initial launch, the investment amount for real estate was from $100,000 to $400,000, depending on the location.
However, in 2022, the President lowered the minimum investment amount from $400,000 to $300,000 in Tashkent and the Tashkent region. At the same time, foreign nationals were permitted to buy real estate amounting to $70,000 in the regions and $150,000 in the capital without needing a residence permit.
