Uzbekistan to Launch Visa-Free Entry for Three Gulf Countries from June 1
Uzbekistan introduced a visa-free travel policy for citizens of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and the Sultanate of Oman starting June 1, 2025. The new regulation allows nationals from these countries to stay in Uzbekistan for up to 30 days without a visa.
This move marks a significant step in Uzbekistan’s broader efforts to position itself as a top destination in Central Asia. The visa-free access is expected to make it easier for travelers from the Gulf region to explore the country’s rich cultural and historical landmarks.
The decision is part of a wider national strategy to strengthen the tourism sector. Uzbekistan is working to attract a higher volume of international visitors and promote the country as a must-visit location on the global tourism map.
As part of these efforts, the government has set ambitious targets for 2025. It plans to welcome 15.8 million foreign tourists and generate $4 billion in tourism service exports.
On the domestic front, Uzbekistan aims to see 40 million trips and plans to launch 378 new tour operators to meet the rising demand.
Beginning in 2025, regional tourism development programs will be drafted annually by November 30 for the following year. This measure is designed to guide and coordinate regional efforts in line with national tourism goals.
In addition, starting this year, the third week of November will be officially recognized as International Tourism Week. This annual observance will highlight the importance of tourism and promote new initiatives across the sector.
