Vietnam Waives Visas for Tourists from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland from March
From March 1, 2025, tourists from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland will be able to enter Vietnam without needing to apply for a visa beforehand.
The government made this announcement through the issuing of Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP on January 15, 2025. This move is in line with the government’s efforts to boost inbound tourism this year and is part of the broader Tourism Stimulus Programme for 2025.
According to the Resolution, citizens of Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland will be able to temporarily stay in Vietnam for up to 45 days for tourism purposes. This measure will be effective until December 31, 2025.
The new policy will also be applied to tours organized by international travel service providers in Vietnam.
Currently, Vietnam already permits visa-free entry to 11 other European countries, namely Belarus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, and the UK. Japanese and South Korean citizens are also exempted from applying for a visa. Nationals from these 13 countries can stay for a maximum of 45 days in Vietnam for tourism purposes.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the aforementioned countries are among the largest tourist source markets for Vietnam.
International arrivals to Vietnam exceeded 17.5 million in 2024, marking a sharp increase of 39.5% from 2023. According to the Vietnam Authority of Tourism (VNAT), Vietnam aims to attract 22 to 23 million international tourists this year.
This significant announcement comes ahead of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s tour to the three European countries.
