Namibia to Launch Simpler Visa System in March
Namibia’s Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security (MHASS) has announced the official launch of a simplified visa application system for tourists.
Etienne Maritz, the Executive Director of MHASS, stated that the launch will happen on March 3, and the new visa regime will be in effect on April 1.
“In line with the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing the tourism experience, the Ministry has developed the e-visa for visa-on-arrival and the visa-on-arrival application form to simplify the visa application process for international tourists, ensuring a more efficient and user-friendly experience,” he said.
Maritz added that the user-friendly portal will enable tourists to apply for visas from the comfort of their homes, creating a more seamless and efficient entry process.
He emphasized that the implementation of visa requirements is in line with global standards and practices set by the International Civil Aviation Organization and adheres to common diplomatic protocols observed internationally.
The launch on March 3 will provide in-depth information on visa requirements, the online application process, relevant fees, designated ports of entry, and the list of countries eligible for the visa-on-arrival scheme.
Maritz added, “The introduction of the visa-on-arrival application form and the e-visa for visa-on-arrival is a key step towards enhancing Namibia’s accessibility to global travelers. It will significantly improve the logistics for tourists and ensure a seamless, efficient experience when visiting Namibia.”
He also reaffirmed Namibia’s commitment to visa reciprocity with other nations.
