Trump’s $5 Million Gold Card Gets Official Website
President Donald Trump has officially announced that applications are now open for the new “Trump Card” program. The initiative offers a chance at permanent residency in the United States for a fee of $5 million.
Trump made the announcement on Wednesday while presenting a new website created for those interested in applying. The site invites individuals and businesses to submit personal information and register their interest by joining a waiting list.
Applicants must indicate if they are applying as individuals or on behalf of a group and whether the residency is for themselves, a spouse, or other family members.
Those applying as businesses can choose categories based on group size, including options for up to four individuals, five to nine people, or groups of ten or more. Details on launch dates or how group applications will be handled remain unknown.
The website features an image of a gold-colored card displaying Trump’s face and allows applicants to select from eight global regions.
After submitting the form, users receive a verification code that must be entered within ten minutes to complete registration. A message on the site reads, “Your Journey Begins. You’ll be the first to hear when access opens.”
Trump claimed that thousands have already expressed interest in the new residency card. The program targets high-net-worth foreign investors and promotes a fast track to a Green Card and eventual citizenship.
The program was first announced in February during a press event with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. Lutnick criticized the EB-5 system as overly complicated. However, immigration experts say only Congress can end or alter the EB-5 program, which is scheduled for renewal in 2027.
With a nonrefundable cost of $5 million, the Trump Card is one of the most expensive investor residency programs worldwide. By comparison, the EB-5 visa requires investments between $800,000 and $1.05 million in qualifying US ventures that create jobs.
Lutnick claimed in March that 1,000 Trump Cards had already been sold. Trump described the program as a “beautiful road” to residency and eventual citizenship. However, legal requirements for citizenship still include holding a Green Card for at least five years.
The administration is yet to confirm how applicants will be vetted or how the program will align with current immigration laws. The White House officials say more information will be released soon.
